Sprinkle Espoma Cottonseed Meal on the ground over an area slightly greater than branch spread. For small shrubs, use 2 1/2 tablespoons. For medium shrubs, use 4 1/2 tablespoons. For large shrubs, use 7 tablespoons.

Shame on Espoma for charging $10.oo for a 4lb. bag of cottonseed meal. I can only hope it is truly 'organically grown' cotton seed, that the oil is processed using a non-solvent extraction method, and that it meets the highest guaranteed protein percentages is graded as Best Quality by the NCRA. I use Cottonseed Meal as a general fertilizer for my yard, trees, plants and flowers here in Houston. Being realistic about 'Organic' products and processes, which I subscribe to and use, I find it difficult to make the switch to Espoma Cottonseed meal from my 50lb bag of best quality 41% cottonseed meal @ $15.00/bag from the feed store down the road. This kind of marketing and price gouging gives Organic products a bad name.
