One of the best CDs ever made...
Mayday Parade has been my favorite band for some time now. I've seen them in concert and met and spoken to a few of them and they're all nice guys who really know what they're doing when it comes to songwriting.
Granted, one of the integral parts of their vocal delivery and lyric-writing, former member Jason Lancaster, is no longer with the band (which is very disappointing). However, Derek Sanders, Jake Bundrick, and Jeremy Lenzo all have amazing voices in their own rights and I don't see this band slowing at all despite the loss.
From the very first song on this CD you will be drowned you in an assault of soaring vocals, infectious guitar melodies, and booming drum beats and bass lines that never lets up.
I give every song on this CD five stars and I would give this album more than five stars if it was possible. I love this CD and this band and I can't wait for another release from Mayday Parade. It's sure to be yet another album worthy of wearing out in your stereo.
so-so
Some ok tunes on this disc but it isn't something I would write home about. I look forward to them possibly getting better on their next album.
Awesome!
A Lesson in Romantics is an awesome album by an awesome band. The main thing that sets this band above others is their ability to weave together multiple vocalists, and make great lyrics that mix well with the music.
Songs:
1. Jamie All Over: Good song, good riff, good chorus= 9
2. Black Cat: Some of the best lyrics on the CD, great chorus= 10
3. When I Get Home...: Great song mix, Lyrics and switching of vocals, my favorite Song= 10
4. Jersey= Good Intro, Nice sing-a-long chorus= 8.5
5. If You Wanted a Song...: Good Song idea, Nice guitar= 8
6.Miserable at Best: Amazing Ballad, Great Lyrics, awesome voice, all combined make it tied for first= 10
