The forecast looks bright and sunny for today.

With the recent slew of Victory Records releases, not to mention the wide variety; one can be to say the least skeptical of any of their assortment of new releases. However, picking through all of the less notable releases from the label, the up-and-coming band, The Forecast, have stepped to the plate and scored a home run on Late Night Conversations. The Forecast are a perfect blend of male and female vocals over a very modern rock soundtrack, executed flawlessly over a ten song full length.

Late Night Conversations is an album confronting different topics ranging from relationships to the teen trend of mutilation and loathing. The harmonies arranged by both vocalists are undeniably catching and well written and the music follows closely in suit leaving your head bobbing back and forth to the beat and your feet tapping almost involuntarily. The Forecast is not only a great recorded band, but bring the same toe tapping energy to the stage, with both great stage presence and cohesion as a band. The Forecast will defiantly be one of the new big bands in poppier rock music, and checking their Victory Records debut out is a must for fans of the genre.

victory records gets a hit with this one!
with victory records, it seems like the bands and albums they release are either hit or miss (not to mention, how they false advertise with their band comparisons). i would have to say they got a hit with the band "the forecast". after listening to this record, it's not nothing incredibly ground-breaking or new yet i still can't really find anyone to compare them to. i do know that it's a fairly solid record with a fresh/exciting sound. the vocals are duel, with a guy singing most of the notes but the girl shannon sings some of the songs choruses and let me tell you; she can sing! the forecast are starting to get a hype around them, and it's a deserving one. they're talented and they can produce some interesting music in an overcrowded scene. if you like emo/indie rock with a mix of male/female singing check these guys out. i'm sure we'll hear more from these guys in the future.

A nice Victory debut for The Forecast
To be blunt, this cd is very suprising, and very good. I basically bought it after hearing only two songs (These Lights, and Fade In Fade Out). I wasn't exactly sure what I was getting, but I'm glad that I got it.

So take my advice: Get this cd. Put it on, grab a beer, and chill out.


Standout tracks include: Seating Subject to Availability, These Lights, Late Night Conversations, and probably my favorite of all the 6 minute Exorcise Demons.
