Customer Reviews

Too weak to perform as pictured2
I bought one of these (Costco - $20) to carry teaching supplies to classes I have off-site. It is being returned unused.

The cart itself is big enough to carry a fair amount of class supplies and would be big enough for my use. An unloaded test of the wheels appears these would also roll well and not twist & turn as some are prone to do. The handle extends easily, snaps into place and again does not seem prone to twisting like other handles of this style. The insert is out of heavy material and has lots of pockets to help organize the supplies.

When opened, the sides appear weak and flexible - I would expect them to break easily. For stability you unsnap a brace from the bottom and fasten it to the lip. These are not very sturdy and if you lose one you lose any hope of stability for that side.

The bottom does not sit all the way down....I expected it to snap into place. I guess it is supposed to be held down by the weight of whatever you are carrying. It is not stable but is very weak - it would not hold the weight that I need it to carry....about 20-30lbs of folders. It certainly would not handle the weight of files if you filled it with hanging file folders as shown on the box.

The final issue for me is that if you have the organizer installed, you cannot fold up the cart for storage. You cannot put the organizer in the tote and fold it up either. Now instead of one thing, I have two things to store. Not a deal breaker but definitely an annoyance I had not expected.

Universal Cart5
This is an excellent item with many uses. My wife, who is a high school English teacher, uses this every day. She doesn't know what she would do without one. Simple to assemble and the manufacture provides an excellent guarantee. I bought one 2 - 3 years ago and I called to get a handle replacement because the spring release broke. I called the manufacture for the handle and they sent me a whole new cart. No questions asked free of charge including shipping. Now where can you get a deal like this?

Not good for Tools2
While it is pictured as a tool organizer, it is not. It will hold up fine as a rolling file and if you use pens and pensils in the front, but as a Tool Organizer, get something more sturdy with more places for tools. With this thing, you end up just dumping everything in the middle part because putting a screwdriver back in the little holder will just break it.
