These Bamboo back scratchers are cut from mature bamboo, and are very strong and sturdy. The handle is a comfortable hand filling 1 1/2" wide, not a skinny stick like you'll find on other back scratchers. The handles are stiff, so the back scratcher won't bend away from your back when you're trying to scratch hard. Each is hand made, no two are identical. Bamboo is a fantastic material. Not only is it strong and durable, but since it is technically a type of grass, it is also very easy to grow and harvest in an environmentally responsible manner. Decent enough to get the job done - but watch out for splinters!
These are perfectly functional for the job they are designed to perform and they are a pretty good price to boot. The length is adequate to get all the way down to the small of your back and the scratching end won't tear up your skin if you go easy with it.

My only concern are the splinters that were present on all three of mine in the exact same place - on the scratching finger end on the left side. it's clearly caused by the way they separate the formed bamboo in manufacturing. it's easy to fix with a household sander such as that Black & Decker Mouse thing, your Pedi-Paws sander (Remove the gaurd) or a plain old emory board. File down the splintered ends, seal it with a little clear nail polish and you're good to go. I used my Pedi-Paws Pet nail trimmer by removing the guard. That stupid device doesn't do crap for trimming pet claws but it does work as a handy rotary sander!

Great product!
My husband has been wanting a back scratcher (I also get tired of having to scratch his back every day), so I thought I would give these a try since I know that bamboo is a solid product and it was a set of three for a good price. We received the product on time and it was well packaged. My husband loves this proudct and keeps one in each room of the house that he spends the most time in. I don't get asked to scratch his back anymore so it definitely worked out for both of us. ;)
