Great concept, buggy
I stumbled across this weather device at Brookstone. I thought it was a very cool concept. My wife is always asking what the weather is going to do. I bought three of these devices and installed the batteries. Two of the three units were dead or couldn't receive the radio signal from the Accuweather server. After exchanging the units, all three appeared to work but after a couple of days, I started getting crazy data from the Weather server. On one of the devices, it said that the high temperature of the day is 97 but that it is sleeting outside right now. Tomorrow, more sleet forecast with a high of 61. I think there are some growing pains in the accuweather network. When the bugs get worked out, this should be a great device. I might return all three units until they are ready for prime time.

UPDATE: Third unit failed, back to Brookstone again....grrrrr

More Accurate Information Should Be Given
I bought this as a gift for my father, and explained to the clerk that we live in BFE Oklahoma. She reassured me that it would work with no problems. Cut to Christmas Day, when we discover that we are nowhere near a covered area. Nowhere on the box does it say that this item will only work in certain areas. I even checked out the Amazon description, and area restrictions are not mentioned here either. Even if I paid for a Premium subscription, it still wouldn't work. We get ZERO signal. We were told that if you can use a cell phone at your home, you can use this. NOT TRUE. Great cell phone reception, zero weather forecast reception. Now I have to find my father a gift he can actually use. Go to the online site for this product and put in you zip code before you purchase this item. A large number of areas won't be able to utilize it.

Petty good but...
Great concept. Works like you would expect however it eats batteries. A set lasts less then a month. It also emits a faint high pitch hum and beeping. I had to move it out of the bedroom. Not a real good value for the price.
