Download the patch to get it to work on XP SP25
This chess game does work on Windows XP SP2, but you have to download a patch from the software developer to get it to work. You can download the patch at:

(......)

When you first install the game on XP SP2, it does not recognize that the CD is in the computer and it keeps asking for it. The patch eliminates this error. It has good 3D graphics and is not violent like other chess games. My son likes battle chess, but its so small on a modern PC and the audio doesn't work. This lego chess game is a good beginners chess set with fun graphics kids will like.

It's a great value at just under (....) with shipping.

Completely Useless. Would not run.1
The "Create a Review" combobox did not provide a "zero" star rating or I would have picked that one. I'm in agreement with these other reviews. My wife bought this game at Christmas for our son. I'm a software engineer with a Masters degree and I could not get this game to execute. The Lego website has a FAQ that says you must first run the "configuration" program and then load the actual Chess play program from there. In all instances, I get an error dialog telling me that there is no CD in the CD drive. Lego needs to make a patch available immediately for this bug. There's no excuse for software with such an obvious bug to be made available to consumers. You're telling me this bug never manifested itself once during their beta/integration testing?

Will not load1
I agree with the other reviewer - this is a worthless product. I've attempted to load on two different computers, and the software fails to initiate setup every time. My kids were pretty disappointed.

Great job, Lego! (not)
