Customer Reviews

A useful kit, but I prefer to use regular needles.3
My boyfriend bought this for me as I never had the right needles for the project (we all know how frustrating that is!). Now, I pretty much have all the right needles, but I don't really enjoy knitting with them. These needles are plastic, which is good because if you like to knit on the plane, theoretically you can take them on board. I haven't tried this yet, however, as I fear that they will still make me throw them away for some ridiculous reason (like threatening the pilot the I'll knit him a cheesy Christmas sweater or some itchy socks). I personally prefer metal needles and I find that these tips are a little too blunt and the smaller ones are a little bendy, which I don't like so much. The thing that bothers me the most is that the cords are pretty thick and inflexible and if you are knitting with a small gauge needle the yarn just doesn't slide around on the cable very well. The yarn also gets caught on the connectors, which is really irritating. I have to constantly stop and go through the process of pushing all the stitches around to create some slack. Bottom line: I am glad I have them if I want to start a new project right away, but I often find myself buying a set of metal ones and using them instead, thus defeating the purpose of the set.

great set!5
I got this set for Christmas and as a new knitter (less than a year) I found them to be absolutely wonderful. I don't really understand people's complaints; I've never had a problem sliding my work from one end to the other, the yarn never gets caught, it is so easy to detach the needles and the case is light weight. I carry it with me almost everywhere. It's also great to have the ability to close off a piece and use the needles for something else. You can also make longer lengths by using the connectors to attach the wires together. overall, a great set!

The BEST Investment for Knitters!!!5
I began learning how to knit late march 2008, and I was discouraged to learn how I have to change the size needle for every prject I want to work on. So, I decided to purchase the Denise kit instead for it is a perfect investment for those who knit on a regular basis, and I have no regrets of doing so to this day. I absotlutely LOVE knitting with the Denise needles for they are plastic and will pass airport security; and I am able to connect various cables to create a particular length for each project. Like stroking fingernails on a chalkboard, the metal needles made me cringe when I slid a stick off a needle, and the Bamboo needles are too expensive to purchase either as a set or individually to justify the purpose of having them. With a liftime guarantee for a product where it is close impossible to destroy the needles, I highly recommend this product for all levels of knitters.
