Hose attachment needs improvement3
I bought this vacuum about a month ago. It is very powerful and does a great job, but I have had a problem with it. The hose attachment keeps messing up. It is hard to explain, but the metal coil within comes out of its slots inside the rubber hose and if you dont catch it in time to realign it, it is worthless. I contacted Bissell and they gladly sent me a new hose attachment. But two cleanings into it it did the same thing. Now I am in an email tag with Bissell. I like the vacuum, but this hose thing is a problem and they will just have to keep sending me a new hose every week. I dont think I can bring the vacuum back to the store (as Bissell suggested) to exchange for a different model since it has been a month, it is used and I no longer have the box. So I am not sure what to do. I will have to check with the store.
Also another thing is that I wish this vacuum had a switch to turn off the brush when doing bare floors as it spits out bits of what I am vacuumming on bare floors. That is frustrating.
I like the fact that it doesnt have but maybe one filter to clean. I had a Bissell Powerforce before and I always had to clean off the filter or it would lose suction. This is not the case with this vacuum. So if they could make a better hose design and add the switch to turn off the brush, it would work great for me. It is a little bulkier than my Powerforce too.

Must replace brush every year - Yuck!1
We bought this vacuum about 18 months ago. It's been to the repair shop once and now the brush has broken again. I called for support and they said that the brush was a "wearable" part and wasn't covered, so now we need to dump another $20 in to keep it working. Not a very well-made product and the company seems to know it with the way they support it.

Performed well for 3 months5
Generally this unit seems to be well built and does its job. I have a long haired cat and the unit really pulls hair out of my low pile carpet. I don't use the attachments so I really can't say how well they work. The filter is easy to clean. My wife used it on wet carpet and got it all gunked up, and it was fairly easy to open and clean up. It is lighter than my old Hoover upright and very easy to use. In order to work well, all vacuums need to be cleaned periodically. I use a razor knife to cut and remove hair that gets wrapped around the beater bar, and a leaf blower to blow out the hose and vacuum channel. My unit is number 82G72, while the pictured unit is 82G71, if that means anything.
