Customer Reviews
Least Expensive of the 7 Brands I Compared
Last year I installed a new deep bathtub, and since then have been taking 3-4 baths a week. Because of this, I've become a collector/connoisseur of bubble/foaming bath products. I've also spent quite a bit of money on my new "hobby," as I usually use about 2 ounces of bubble bath per bath (6-8 ounces per week) because my tub is so deep. Obviously this can get expensive, so I actually compared brands to see what I was getting for the money.
I have tried 7 different products from Amazon (actually 2 brands were ordered through Smallflower): Lily of the Desert, EO, Sea Spa, Village Naturals, Canus Goat's Milk, Ombra, and Badedas. In some cases I've had more than one scent of each brand.
I rated these products on: Price, scent, amount of bubbles, and whether or not the bubbles were long lasting. The prices are approximate, and Amazon does dicker with their pricing quite a bit. I added $3 shipping to the Smallflower items, although you will pay more if you only order one product at a time through them. I didn't rate on how soft these products leave your skin because, surprisingly, I didn't notice any big differences between brands in this regard. Perhaps this is because I tend to stay in the hot water for about an hour which likely dries the skin no matter what product is used.
I gave a 4-star rating to Canus Goat's Milk Foaming Milk Bath. Although the scent is quite faint, it had the lowest price of all the products I compared (0.23/ounce) and it has good, long-lasting foam.
nice smell, could use more foam
I use this for my son's bubble bath. He is only 3. It's been gentle enough on his skin and I've not heard any complaints of stinging etc when he puts his head in the water. It also smells very nice. Don't expect this to foam up a lot like some other commercial bubble baths for kids, but then again, this stuff is made with the intention of being healthier and more gentle on skin than the nasty high-production soaps in the market here in the US. There are still plenty enough bubbles to keep a little boy happy in the tub with just a couple squirts added to the running water. This of course, DOES contain SLS's! I don't know of a bubble bath that doesn't although Aubry Organics, and Jason's do make good SLS free soap/shampoo products for kids and babies.
