Christmas Rocks with Free Angels!5
There have been some surprising free holiday music offerings from Amazon lately, and they do span a wide variety of musical genre and tastes, from traditional songs and carols to jazz and a bit of everything in between. A new offering that's true upbeat fun is Angels We Have Heard On High, a free MP3 from the by Brian Setzer Orchestra. This brassy big-band rendition comes from their Christmas Rocks: The Best-Of Collection.

This latest offering is, as implied by the title, primarily a collection from their previous albums. For those new to to the BSO and who don't have their previously-released holiday albums, this is a decent compilation. The Brian Sezter Orchestra has come to associate themselves closely with the Christmas Holidays, having recorded two Christmas CD's and making an annual Christmas concert tour.

In 2002, Setzer released the group's first Christmas album, Boogie Woogie Christmas, and followed in 2005 with their Dig That Crazy Christmas CD. They also released a DVD entitled Brian Setzer - Christmas Extravaganza during that same holiday season.

This was followed in 2007 with their album A Swingin' Christmas, and the fall of 2008 saw the release of The Ultimate Christmas Collection, a two-disc enhanced set consisting of a DVD that contains their full-length holiday concert filmed in December 2004 at L.A.'s sold out Universal Amphitheatre, along with a CD that includes the brand new 'Best Of' collection noted above, featuring two previously unreleased tracks.

In case you missed it earlier, and your mood is more traditional, be sure to check out the free Amazon Holiday Sampler, a worthwhile addition to any MP3 collection of traditional holiday music.

Thanks, Amazon... and Best Holiday Wishes to all!

Rockin' Tune4
Has a driving beat to it and starts out with brass and then goes into a rock and roll guitar rendition. All instrumental at the first and then vocals (a choir) enter about half-way through.

Great holiday album!5
Setzer combines his rockabilly guitar, a big band, and holiday choirs for a compelling album of holiday music. If you're looking for something different and contemporary, try this album.
