A contemporary of Prynne, Peter Riley, et al, but his work only began to emerge in the 1970s.

I'm not a big fan of MacSweeney's later _Book of Demons_ (which earned him a large audience), but the poems up to & including _Pearl_ are a different matter.

A noted feminist theorist, Denise Riley also has written some of the most interesting UK poetry of the 1980s and 1990s.

Keston's a younger poet, strongly influenced by Prynne & Wilkinson. This is his first booklength collection
