Another "integral vision" - one of the best. Ken is one of my favorite writers. In for a penny, in for a pound as a rule with this guy. You really do need to read his entire corpus. When it comes to contemplating what the "nexgen" human really means, Ken is well ahead of the learning curve.

For those interested in the next generation economy, and are enamored by terms like "the self-organizing economy" and "the collaboration economy," this book is well researchd and well argued.

Just going from the title, you can tell this is a man after my own heart. In an idea economy, it's perhaps time we do let go of the whole "wage slave" concept, realizing that freeing up people's time to come up with the ideas that will drive the economy is in everyone's best interests.

Friedman's book, Hot, Flat, and Crowded, is more up to date. But this is a classic you will still want to read.

If you eat meat, you need to know the "big picture" implications. And this is about as big picture as it gets.

Definitely the best of all his books, and the culmination of his thinking to date. The near future as it's driven and shaped by technology. If you want the biggest reality check in the least amount of pages, this is probably the book you want.

Technically this is a smaller subset of archetypes than covered in Awakening the Heroes Within, all the same, the writing is quite good, and sometimes just changing the wording helps to free up insights.

I strongly recommend everything by this author. But the Diamond Heart series is the most accessible. After that, I would venture into the Diamond Mind series. Gurdjieff favored "will" as the transformative vehicle par excellence of the many qualities of essence. Almaas clearly prefers "truth" as the aspect of essence that is most liberating.

I meant to put this in amidst my favorite Jeremy Rifkin books earlier, and must have missed it. Sorry!

Ken Wilber traces his roots to this guy, Hegel, and Sri Aurobindo. As interdisciplinary and integral thinking in the service of higher consciousness goes - he does rather well.

You would do well to read all of Ohmae. He is one of the best of the "big picture" people working within the business world today. His trend forecasting tends to be spot on.

You would be hard pressed to find any economists today pondering the global economy who truly "get it." But Florida does.
