If bothered, a ladybug will sometimes ooze a smelly fluid from its knees to distract its attacker. Just remember to always wash your hands after handling bugs.

Most ants live in huge colonies (anthills) led by a queen. The worker ants are always female, and males are rare. Their only purpose is to mate with the queen, who is the only female ant who can mate. Fire Ants are so named because their bite leaves a burning sensation. Ants are excellent fighters, especially because they often attack in groups. There are cases of ant war between two colonies.
