Complete and Accurate
As a breeder of German Shorthaired Pointers at [....], I give this book with each puppy sold. Allot of other books, even some with GSP in their title are warmed over generic puppy books. This book is specific to my breed and full of valuable information for the beginner and the experienced GSP owner.

a must have for a anyone considering a German Shorthair
This book is an excellent, concise introduction to anyone even remotely considering getting one of these dogs. It covers everything from how to pick a puppy, deciding if these are the right type of dog for you and how to find this out, diseases and ailments that these dogs are prone to, basic puppy and dog training methods, housetraining, and basic hunting methods. Along with a complete description of the accepted breed standard and competitions available for your dog. Though this should not be the only book a new GSP owner should get, it is recommended as the first one to get when deciding.

Good Jumping off Point
This book touches all the bases. Excellent for the new dog owner. Make no mistake, it is NOT the end of ones personal gsp library,unless using the dog as "just" a pet. I would recommend others as well. This book does just what it is intended to, introduce the GSP owner with brief history and insight into his/her new K9 friend. For the price you can't beat it.
