Hardbound. The European Resuscitation Council (ERC) was established in 1989 as an interdisciplinary council for resuscitation medicine and emergency medical care. The objectives of the ERC are to preserve life by improving standards of resuscitation in Europe and to coordinate the activities of European organisations with a major interest in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
The ERC Working Groups on Basic Life Support, Paediatric Life Support and Advanced Life Support of the ERC have prepared the new 1998 ERC Guidelines for Resuscitation which were field-tested in late 1997 and early 1998.
The ERC Working Group on Training and Education has further prepared the materials that support the ERC Guidelines which resulted in the publication of the 1998 edition of the ERC Guidelines for Resuscitation.
