fun and delicious4
I tried this machine yesterday for the first time. I was extremely happy with the ice cream maker. It was a little louder than I would have liked, but you get used to it after awhile. The only bad thing is that it took about 60 minutes, instead of the 20 to 40 that they say it should take. I had everything chilled and frozen like they said to do, so I don't know. When I first tasted the ice cream, I couldn't believe it!! It tasted like Breyer's. It was soft, so I put it in the freezer in individual freezer bowls for an hour or two and it was hard like the store bought. I used the basic recipe and it was perfect for my family. My husband it totally into Breyer's ice cream and won't eat anything else, but he liked this ice cream just fine! The clean up was easy. As soon as I had the canister cleaned and dryed, I immediately put it in the freezer. Today I made another batch and had the same perfect result and it was just as jummy.

If at first you don't succeed,5
try following the instructions.

If I had written my review based on our first attempt with this ice cream maker, I'd have given it one star. In fact, we were trying to find the receipt when it occurred to me: maybe I should have paid more attention to the instructions.
Sho' 'nuff, it worked.
First attempt, our freezer wasn't cold enough to thoroughly freeze the freezer bowl, and, I didn't thoroughly chill the ice cream mix. Result: milkshakes.
Then, I tried reducing the temperature in the freezer, and chilling the mix properly. Result: very good soft-serve ice cream!
Another tip: while packets of mix that you just add milk to are fine for quick ice cream, invest in a good homemade ice cream recipe book! There is a world of difference between packaged mixes and making your own with real cream and natural flavorings! And, with the latter, you can pack it into a freezer container and save it for later.
The biggest plus for this machine is the freezer bowl eliminates the need for often hard-to-find rock salt and lots of ice!
Just be sure to properly freeze the freezer bowl and chill the ingredients. Unless, of course, you're in the mood for a milkshake.

Simple to use, delicious results5
I received this ice cream maker as a gift a week ago. Since then, I've made three batches of ice cream (all from the recipes included with the machine) and I've found that the ice cream maker works very well. The ice cream is quite soft when it comes out of the machine, but if you pack it into a freezer safe container and put it in the freezer for about 3 hours, it firms up nicely. And it is really delicious!

I found the machine quite easy to use. It is a little noisy, but not too bad. The machine itself only runs for 20 to 30 minutes, but the whole process takes a while (chilling the freezer bowl, then making and chilling the ice cream base, then allowing the ice cream to set in the freezer) so you do need to plan ahead. But that isn't a criticism of the machine -- it's just the way the process works.

I would recommend this product.
