Buy new: $12.50 Noodler's Black (standard black) is super-permanent, used on my checks, very close to pH neutral, and good for two-sided writing on many kinds of bad paper. Amodex will remove stains in this ink from wool, silk or artificial fibers, but not from cotton, linen or rayon.

This is just as tough as Noodler's (standard) Black, but not so good for two-sided writing on bad paper unless shadow-through and print-through are the hard-to-forge features you want. I use this ink for sensitive recordkeeping (student attendance in my classes).
