Customer Reviews

Large and Fast, one of the few.5
The problem with many large USB drives is that they are SLOW. Sure you can buy a cheap 4BG drive, but it may take you an entire day (no exaggeration) to fill it up. I returned a few others after figuring this out.

Pros:
- The drive is as fast as you can reasonable expect. The claims are for a 20Mb/s write speed. Well under ideal testing conditions I would not be surprised if that were true. In real world conditions (i.e. many small files) it is slower than 20Mb/s, but fast enough. It only took about a minute to copy 225MB of data which was well over 1000 small files. (Small files slow down USB drives considerably.) This is great performance.
- Another plus is that there is no cap required. The USB port slides inside the housing using the switch on the side. It locks into place open or closed. I have tried the SanDisk version of USB drive, maybe it was just the drive I had, but it rattled. The Kingston does not.

Cons:
- It is a little longer than many of the other drives I've looked at. This is minor, it still fits easily into my front pocket and I hardly know it is there.
- It is a little more expensive than some of the other drives out there, but it is worth it because of the performance.

Excellent speed but slider not so good4
I tested the file transfer speed and works well. I was able to run a working copy of eclipse. Damn small linux an ubuntu as bootable disk and all worked well. While the speed is not as high as an actual hard drive it was better than most.

Great for Vista Ready Boost5
I have been using this for my HP Desktop computer that only had 2G of ram while vista works faster with more memory I bought this product instead of spending a lot more to upgrade my memory and what a difference it has made. This computer is really fast for a lower end model with dual core processor.
