Customer Reviews

Extreme performance for write intensive needs5
We bought a handful of these cards in various sizes to be used on a development platform with heavy data read/write demands. They easily are the fastest USB sticks overall out there at the time of this review, so if speed is essential for your needs, don't look any further than this product.

Still not as fast as an external drive3
I'm amazed at how much slower USB drives still are compared to external disk drives. Bang for your buck, I'd go for the external drive.
When compared to the $10 sticks with the same amount of space, I only noticed a slight increase in speed if any at times.
My advice, these things are great for small files, but don't use them for moving large files or large amounts of them. Since they are only good for small files, stick with the $10 counterpart.
If you do have to move files, I recommend an external drive. The SATA drives run at 1.5Gbps for reading a writing (9.8X faster) which still doesn't take full avantage of the USB 2.0 bandwidth capacity of 480 MBps (24X faster than this memory stick). A gigabit network connection would be theoretically faster still barring any other traffic.
Until USB sticks can improve their speed by 10X, they aren't going to be that competitive. On top of that, they still don't last as long as the external drives.
At least it works, though.
