Customer Reviews
Wasn't what I thought it was, but not bad!
This looks amazing on this site, but when you get it it's a bit anti-climactic. It's very light (made out of coated cardboard and plastic) and the only hands that are real and movable are Ginny and Ron (hour and minute hands) the others are just a background decal. It's a good size though, and quite clever.
Weasley Clock
This is very cute hanging on the wall and we like it very much. However, we are admittedly obsessive Harry Potter fans. The clock is actually made of cardboard--it's like a cardboard box about 1 inch thick. The clock works are inside and there is a hanging hole thingy on the back for you to hang it on the wall. The hands are all just pictures on the "box" except for Ron's which is the minute hand and Ginny's which is the hour hand. This is functional, but really just a novelty item. It is very hard to tell what time it is with all the hands. They do look like they would all move though unless you get up really close. We actually just watched the Chamber of Secrets movie and saw the clock on film--this one looks just like the face of the one in the movie.
Overall, we like this very much, but if you arent a really hard core HP collector, know that it is not the sturdiest thing in the world. It does keep good time though.
Mortal Peril
Love, love, love this clock. I gave it four out of five because as my mom commented last night after I gave it as a gift, "it's hard to tell exactly what time it is." Only the Ron and Ginny hands move (hour and minutes) and the rest is a background decale. It's unfortunate that it didn't come out after HPDH so the correct fates could be displayed for the other family members...you know who I mean. But I'm happy to live in a pre-DH world.
It is operated by one AA battery - that was a bit hard to get in without twisting the whole mechanism. It's made of metal (hands) and cardboard (background) so it's light and easy to hang anywhere with only one nail or hook.
Over-all I'm very excited to have it.
