About the Artist
Joanne Shenandoah is a Wolf Clan member of the Iroquois Confederacy/ Oneida Nation, and was voted Best Female Artist in 1999 and 1998 by the Native American Music Awards. She combines original compositions, a striking voice, and a blend of traditional and contemporary instrumentation to enhance the ancient songs of the Iroquois.
