From the Artist
Words from the Artist... Johnny Whitehorse I grew up with my Grandparents who moved from their Apache homeland of San Carlos, Arizona to Bakersfield, California. Grandpa was a cowboy and followed range work from different ranches across the southwest until he took a bad fall and ended up a field hand. I was just a young boy when grandpa was hurt and in those times I dearly wanted to be with them. I stayed to help out where I could and began to learn the ways of my people and the ways of the horse. Though we were misplaced from our original homelands and everyone thought we were Mexican, in our small home we kept the traditional life of the Pueblo and Apache people. I have no regrets for I am a child of this earth. We are all one and this earth is eventually where we will go back to. Thank you for your love... ride free.

Album Description
IMAGINE a time of great horsemen riding across the plains and desert plateaus. Warriors and dancers celebrate around the drum. Ghostly visions appear in sand storms and rain clouds, a sign from the Great Mystery to which we are all connected. Johnny Whitehorse weaves tribal drums and native flutes into a mystical musical tapestry of a time gone by.

Wonderful wonderful wonderful5
Johnny WhitehorseI can only say this recording of traditional Native American music is wonderful followed by many more superlatives. The music is tranquil and at times forlorn. The Indian flute and native percussion instruments set the mood. If you want to be transported into another dimension where you float with the wind and dream of eagles, this is the recording for you.

Mirabel at his best5
Johnny Whitehorse comes to life through the magical weaving of drums and flute. The resulting tapestry is mysterious, melodious, powerful, evocative, and filled with story. Ride with Johnny Whitehorse - it is a journey well worth taking. This CD is my favorite Robert Mirabel.

Whitehorse??5
Perhaps it is important to mention - and Amazon fails to do so - that Johnny Whitehorse is actually Robert Mirabal. And a must for all Mirabal fans.
