"At last a cookbook is coming that makes natural food appear glamorous and desirable..."

Salon.com, March 6, 2007
Swanson goes a long way toward helping "whole" foods shed their stale, hippie stigma...

Seattle Post-Intelligencer, April 10, 2007
The evocative photographs, most of which were taken by Swanson, lure you into the book.

true beauty in food5
I love everything I have made so far; Do-It-Yourself Power Bars, Wheat Berry Salad, Garlic Scape Soups (I used ramsons) and Crusted Brussel Sprouts are in my best recipes file.

This book has lots of beautiful pictures; the author has a good taste and knows how to show us the true beauty in food.

Fabulous Book5
I bought this for my mom and I to share. We love to by one copy of a cookbook and pass it back and forth. Well, this one is so good, I am ashamed to say I have monopolized the book. The recipes are unique, which I LOVE. The pictures are great, and the info in between each section is great. We are trying to eat better a little at a time, and this book gives great ideas for those, like me, who love to cook. The recipes do call for a lot of ingredients that I didn't initially have but have been collecting. Eating better does cost more but it's worth it to me.

Interesting3
I love the design and photography in this book, it's fun to look at. I am not 100% on the recipes. I was disappointed to find most of the dessert recipes call for butter and sugar instead of alternatives. It's a good book to get you "started" finding new ideas for cooking naturally.
