Excellent motivator
My daughters wanted me to start running. I'm 48 and always found running a bore. I bought this CD and put it on my mp3 player. It is INCREDIBLE. I'm not sure why, but it keep you moving and makes you want to go further. I have been running for longer periods of time with mimimal effort.

Love the running meditation
I have listened to Kelly Howell's mediation for years and bought the Running Meditation in the mid 1990's. I always liked it. The music is a little funky at first, as someone else stated, but it goes into the background once you start listening to the guided imagery. I use the guided imagery along with my own personal physical goals imagery and my cardio goes by very fast and I am able to make it very intense. You don't necessarily have to run to use this CD... I use it on the elliptical machine at the gym, too.. works great!!

Suprising
I have listened to other Kelly Howell meditations and have found them helpful. I'm not sure about the science behind the meditations, but I do think that if you hear something enough you start to believe it. The music is a little funky and on first listen I did not like it, when I'm running it does not bother me at all. The little peptalk chats on the disk actually do feel empowering. I'm not sure if it would have the same effects for men and women. I only say this because as a woman I don't have the same motivators as men. So while I found this motivating it is possible someone else wouldn't. But if it's any other indication my other favorite running motivation is Rammstein.
