Customer Reviews
Hard to use.
As a heart rate monitor this makes for a great watch. First of all you have to have both hands free for it to take your pulse. That limits your exercise too running or walking. Second it says in the manual that any sudden movements will make for an inaccurate reading. (I don't dispute its accuracy) The bottom line: While I find a strap uncomfortable it at least gives me a reading every time I look at it, this product requires that I press a button for 15 to 20 seconds to get a reading, making it too hard to use.
What I was looking for
After my last chest strap broke and I could not replace it easily, I looked into a strapless monitor. I never liked the chest strap anyway. This is a very nice product. I find it to be quite accurate and easy to use. What's more, it actually works while I am on the treadmill, which often interferes with other monitors. I can go from treadmill to weights and back (or to other aero) and it does not miss a beat (sorry). I would give it 5 stars except that it is slightly large for a female wrist. Other than that, it's great. And if you have large wrists, then it should be five stars for you.
Not a good idea ...
Consumer Reports rated all the "strapless" models below the others. Their analysis showed that this method of estimating your heart rate is far less accurate than using a monitor with a chest strap. In addition, the Reebok models were generally rated lower than Polar, Acumen, and others.
