Product Description
After years as drummer, currently guitar player, of the wildly successful band Matchbox Twenty, Paul Doucette took advantage of a temporary break to record songs he d been working on for his solo project, The Break And Repair Method. When I first made the record, I had been in a band for so long, and I was always a drummer. I never really contributed much melodically, so it was important to me to do as much of that as I could, says Doucette. The Break and Repair Method is Doucette s carefully curated collective of musicians playing his quirk-filled catchy pop songs, scaling emotional depths in single songs, with Doucette s vocals warm like sand grains sifted. Written predominantly on the piano, Doucette marries the traditions of Randy Newman and Harry Nilsson with the rhythmic rock sensibility he s spent years creating.
