Album Description
Gale Stormed on to the scene in 1955 and this new set from Jasmine features the LPs Sentimental Me and Gale Storm in their entirety. Included are the hits Teenage Prayer & Memories Are Made Of This and her No. 1 I Hear You Knockin' which helped secure Gale Storm as a major star. Her versatility as an actress also has contributed in no small measure to her success on records, for Gale is a versatile singer capable of handling tunes of varying tempos and moods such as those included in the wide variety of songs she has recorded for this album.

Gale's first two albums on one cd...PLUS
As a long-time Gale Storm fan I welcomed the release of her first two albums on cd. The sound quality on this release is incredible! Although recorded in mono, the sound is so crisp and full you could almost swear Gale is in the room with you. The songs on this set include some of her big hits: "I Hear You Knocking", "Memories Are Made of This", "Teenage Prayer", and "A Heart Without a Sweetheart" (which wasn't on the original album). This is a fine example of 50s pop singing at its best. I'm in love all over again!
Gale Storm Albums on CD At Long Last!
This set contains 2 of the greatest albums ever made for the first time officially on cd. Gale Storm was enormously popular in the 1950's as a pioneer on television with her television series MY LITTLE MARGIE (at its height number 2 in the ratings) and THE GALE STORM SHOW: OH! SUSANNA (also a big hit in the ratings). Between the series she began an enormously successful singing career. 4 of her early hits are included here in this set that has her first 2 albums: GALE STORM and SENTIMENTAL ME. One of the things that made Gale such a great singer was her ability to take a popular song of the day and not merely do a cover of it, but make the song truly her own. Among many examples is MORE THAN YOU KNOW. It is lovely song and there have been many fine versions of it by some of the most noted pop singers of all time. Still Gale's version is unique. She does it in a different tempo and arrangement than it is usually done, yet it is so perfect for her singing style and personality. Rarely have singer and song been so perfectly matched. She also makes the other songs in this collection truly her own. Not only does she have a lovely voice but she uses her abilities as an actress to convey emotion and personality into her singing as few others can. Her ability to do so many different kinds of songs is also amazing. These are two truly unforgettable albums and worthy additions to anyone's collection. (Note there are 2 numbers not on the original Dot albums included here: A HEART WITHOUT A SWEETHEART and MY HEART BELONGS TO YOU) At last we can hear them in even better sound on CD.
FABULOUS RELEASE - GREAT TRIBUTE TO A GREAT ARTIST
My CD of Gale's first two albums arrived today, and I am totally thrilled. In her memory (she passed away on July 27 at age 87), I wanted to see what Jasmine did to tracks I have recently downloaded from iTunes, which appear to be an almost complete set of Gale's Dot recordings. Jasmine has recreated two album classics in brilliant sound. These songs never sounded better. Regardless that they are monophonic, the remastering is so superb, you don't notice. The clarify of the vocals and orchestrations sound like they were recorded today. I'm very pleased Jasmine took the initiative and released these great Gale albums, and hope they continue to release the balance of her catalog on Dot, including all the B-sides (A Little To Late, the B-side of "Dark Moon" is one of my personal favorites). I cannot wait to hear "Dark Moon" and "Love By The Jukebox Light" in crystal clear sound like this. Any fans of 1950s female vocalists, Gale Storm herself or great standards should not pass this one up.
