Compact, Lightweight Impact Driver is Easy to Handle and Hold
Measuring 5-1/2 inches long and weighing just two pounds, the WH10DL Micro Impact Driver is small enough to fit in tight spaces. It easily fits in any tool belt, and its lightweight design promotes easy one-handed operation and minimal fatigue on all-day jobs. The optimized handle with Elastomer wrap provides additional comfort and a secure grip.

Powerful Enough to Tackle a Wide Range of Applications
Though small, the WH10DL is able to generate enough power to handle a wide range of applications. The WH10DL's powerful motor boasts a class-leading 930 in./lbs. of torque, so it will make easy work of most drilling, driving, and fastening applications.

The variable-speed trigger allows for precise control over the speed of the drill--between 0 and 2,300 RPM--and the impact rate of 0-3,000 BPM takes care of tough masonry applications, stubborn bolts, and other challenging tasks.

Specially Designed Chuck for Ease of Use
For ease of use, the WH10DL features an LED ring that surrounds the 1/4-inch quick-change chuck and illuminates the work surface, making it easy to use the drill driver in darker work areas. The chuck requires no tools for bit changes--simply pull out, insert the bit, and release the chuck.

HXP Batteries Last Three Times Longer and Weigh 50% Less
The WH10DL owes its light weight to two HXP Lithium-Ion batteries (included). These 1.5-Ah batteries weigh half of what traditional NiCd or NiMH batteries weigh. In fact, tools featuring HXP batteries are on average one pound lighter than tools using traditional batteries.

Additionally, HXP batteries last three times longer than their competition. Where NiCd and NiMH batteries could be used for up to 500 charge cycles, HXP Lithium-Ion batteries can be used for up to 1,500 charge cycles! An added bonus, the included quick charger replenishes the battery power in just 40 minutes, so you have less down time.

HXP Lithium-Ion batteries operate within optimal voltage limits, protecting both the tool and batteries from damage. Protection circuitry built into the batteries and charger monitors the charge and discharge for each battery cell, resulting in peak operating performance.

And if a surge in power is detected during use, Hitachi's Over-Current Protection technology will temporarily shut of the power to protect the batteries and tool from being damaged. This feature allows the power to return to optimal voltage, thereby extending battery and tool life beyond any competitive lithium-ion products.

HXP batteries come with a two-year HXP Lithium-Ion Battery Warranty, which protects against possible defects in materials and workmanship.

The Industry's Longest Lithium-Ion Tool Warranty
Every Hitachi cordless power tool is designed to the highest standards and is rigorously tested for both performance and durability. All HXP Lithium-Ion cordless tools come with a 10-year Lithium-Ion Tool Warranty, which protects against possible defects in materials and workmanship.

From the Manufacturer
The combination of Hitachi's HXP lithium ion battery technology and an advanced impact mechanism give the Hitachi WH10DL 10.8-Volt Cordless Lithium Ion Micro Impact Driver a high torque-to-size ratio for convenient operation and impressive performance. Lightweight and compact at only 2-pounds and 5 1/2-inch in length, the WH10DL delivers 930-inch-pounds of torque (more than any cordless driver drill) and gets into tight places where conventional drills cannot. With many features designed for comfort, control and convenience, the WH10DL fits easily in any tool belt and packs enough punch to smoothly drill and drive into wood, metal and concrete for everything from heavy-duty construction to finish cabinetry. For standard drilling, driving, and fastening applications, the WH10DL Micro Impact Driver can handle them all like any driver drill. The distinction of an impact driver emerges when the job gets tough, such as driving self-tapping masonry anchors into concrete, brick or block, or heavy fastening application with lag bolts. As the resistance of the load increases, the impact action is engaged to greatly increase torque to power through the most challenging tasks. Ergonomically designed details and the powerful advantage of an impact work together for more work with less time and effort required. A quick change 1/4-inch hex chuck allows for simple bit replacements and a responsive variable speed trigger provides complete control during intricate operations. By partially depressing the trigger, an LED light illuminates the work surface and allows the user to see clearly to set up an application before the driver is in motion. A low battery indicator light warns the user when run-time is getting low. Optimized handle dimensions (4 1/2-inch circumference) create an ergonomic grip span for comfortable control and a secure grasp.

wow5
This tool is one of the most ingenious and valuable tools i've ever used, and I'd recommend anyone who drives any number of screws regularly (or a lot of screws every now and then) get an impact driver.

The first day i showed up at a site with my brand new little hitachi impact driver, i had at least five girls call it a "baby drill" and a couple of guys laughed. Now, after working with this tool at least a few hours every day for the last two weeks, i continuously get requests from people who need me to remove stripped screws or to help drive in complicated screws (toenails, deep sunk screws, awkward angles).

Out of all the micro impact drivers on the market, this one has the highest torque (930 in-lbs), and it really shows. I've been driving numerous 2 1/2" screws without any problem, and 4" screws are also really easy to handle, though the battery life suffers when you start driving screws longer than 3". This driver has kept me from using a crowbar to remove semi-stripped screws so many times, its probably saved me from a few hours of work. Its so small that i can keep it in my back pocket while i'm using my bigger drill to make holes , and the battery life has been pretty impressive. I wouldnt recommend it as the primary driver for someone who builds decks for a living, but its a great tool to accompany a bigger drill, or would be perfect for the homeowner looking for something to help putting in screws during those longer projects.

The design is really easy to handle, and the driver feels great in your hand. It spins super fast and the light weight is really manageable, so you can get a screw started really easily, then after the impact mechanism takes over, you really only need one hand to sink your screw. This thing is POWERFUL, and gives the user absolutely no hand fatigue and no stripped screws.

Good things come in small packages!5
Having read all the reviews on this as well as the 12V Hitachi Impact Driver, I decided to buy both for comparison, primarily due to one reviewer stating the Hitachi Micro was too small for his hand.

I have relatively large hands and have problems finding XXL leather gloves that fit. That was THE only reason I purchased both drivers. This Micro Impact driver fit my hand with room to spare.

As a general contractor for some years, one of the most valued tools I ever purchased had been the Makita 9.6V Impact Driver. I finally had enough of the batteries not holding a charge for any length of time and decided to save the 90 minute drive to and from Lowes and buy the Micro from Amazon.

Reviews on Amazon for Makita replacement batteries indicated no better success than I had the last time I bought a replacement Makita battery for that driver.

The Micro is smaller and significantly lighter than my Makita 6903VD. I've owned and used the Makita so long, I can not give much more of a review other than to say the Micro out performed the Makita testing both with HD 4" deck screws in & out of solid, pressure treated wood and trees. I've been using the Micro for just about any repair needed around the house the past two days, and this tool is fantastic.

My only suggestion would have been to add a sealed case bit holder inside the Micro case to keep everything nicely organized and not worry that I forgot to bring my assortment of bits with the driver, or at least a few of the most used bits.

If this holds up to the type of use I've put my Makita through, I will be thrilled!

The light feature on the Micro is an added bonus. A very nice package!

Husband loves it5
Bought this for my husband as a surprise, and he is very happy with it. Very versatile, very powerful and fits many places where his DeWalts can't.
