Product Description

A radio road trip across America featuring the wackiest calls from the nuttiest specimens ever to phone the show.

A high point of every Car Talk show is the call-in segment, when listeners phone in for advice and regale hosts Click and Clack with tales of their own automotive misadventures.

Like Dave from Bemidji, Minnesota, who drives his Chevy Cavalier home from Alaska when it already has 350,000 miles on the odometer. And Dinesh, who strolls across Death Valley. Rather than worry about buzzards, he's concerned about how his car will hold up in the heat. Christy wants to know if she fried her dad's Citation. Adrienne frets that a load of rocks might crush her Saab. Single guy John wonders if he should tidy up his car for a first date or reveal its trashy self. And when Ann's husband travels from Georgia to Florida to get his vasectomy reversed, Ann drives like a banshee to bring him back home. Ever since, their Caravan makes strange grinding noises.

It seems that lunatics aren't confined to Car Talk Plaza. They're everywhere, and they're dialing the phone. Four hilarious radio shows celebrate the land of the free, home of the wacko.

A radio road trip across America features some of the nuttiest callers ever to phone Click and Clack. Like Dave from Bemidji, Minnesota, who relied on a rusty barbecue grill to get his Chevy Cavalier home from Alaska. And Dinesh, who strolls across Death Valley. Rather than worry about buzzards, he's concerned about how his car will hold up in the heat. Christy wants to know if she fried her dad's Citation. Tanya the personal trainer makes Genghis Khan seem like a Nobel Peace Prize winner. And single guy John wonders if he should tidy up his car for a first date or reveal his trashy self.

Listen to these calls and many more to learn that wackos aren’t confined to Car Talk Plaza. They're everywhere, and they're dialing the phone. Four hilarious shows celebrate the land of the free, and the home of the wacko.

From AudioFile
Click and Clack are back, this time in a handy "best of" volume! This "field guide" is a collection of some of the most bizarre calls the Massachusetts duo have taken on their NPR radio show, "Car Talk," including one from a man who plans to walk across Death Valley and needs to know what effect that kind of heat will have on his vehicle, and one from a poor young woman who (on the air) confesses to having "melted the engine" in her father's brand new car by sticking black electrical tape over the "check engine" light and driving to Phoenix. There's nothing unnecessary or fancy about this volumeit's just three-and-a-half hours of Boston-accented, wisecracking, philosophizing Click and Clack. A.A. © AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine

Always a great laugh5
We have heard all the "Click and Clack" brothers CD's. This has to be one of the funniest.

When you need a laugh!5
This item is great when the world and people just make you want to scream!! My husband and I use this to lift the stress and get a much needed laugh. If the stories don't get to you, these two guys laughing will make you want to laugh along. If you have someone that you know could use a laugh - get this for them. This is highly recommended!

Laugh Out Loud Funny5
This 4 cd set is totally 'laugh out loud' funny. The interplay between the Car Talk brothers and their callers is hilarious. My older son bought this set for me for Christmas. I first listened to Car Talk Field Guide to the North American Wacko while soloing on a six hour drive. The time flew by and I found myself laughing loud and long. Highly recommend. I wished there were even more cds in the set.
