Part works well. I suggest that the on-line info make it clear that the 6" dimension refers to the diameter of the connecting pipe

Cover is perfect for exterior end of downdraft vent pipe which originates over our stove. Cover fit snugly over pipe and stays in place well. Moveable louvres open and close effectively when fan turns on. Grid keeps out unwanted creatures such as mice or birds. Reasonable price. Great product.
