Customer Reviews

Long time Punch user switched to Chief Architect Arch Home Designer 91
I'm not going to waste much more time writing a review on any Punch product since I've already wasted too much time wrestling with the program itself. I originally bought AS18 and then upgraded to 4000 to use for sketching up ideas for my remodeling and design business. I've been using Punch for the past couple of years and overall the experience has been frustrating. I recently downloaded a trial version of Chief Architect Home Designer Pro and the difference is night and day. I was so impressed I immediately purchased the next version down the food chain: CA Architectural Home Designer 9. The interfaces are close enough that I was able to hit the ground running with CA and I couldn't believe how much more productive I was in the first few hours with CA compared to my couple of years with Punch. It's obvious that Punch doesn't have the chops to be a real contender and that CA is derived from a real CAD app (CA X2). CA is well organized and objects behave as you expect (with helpful intuitive features), unlike Punch. I'm so impressed that I will probably upgrade to CA Home Designer Pro 9 in the near future (which will give me better ability to control roof design and build my design in layers).

Run, don't walk to CA's product offerings. Trust me.

-- A happy convert.
