About Treadmills
Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.

From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.

Many treadmills offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting cardiovascular benefits without requiring a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

Horizon Fitness T93 Treadmill5
My husband and I are really enjoying our Horizon Fitness T93 Treadmill. He uses it for jogging, and I use it to walk hills. It was quick and easy to put together (only took an hour). The MP3 adapter is awesome. The incline transition is so quick and quiet that you can barely tell its moving (until your heart rate increases)! The adjustable cushioning of the belt is nice also. This is a very solid machine. We are very happy with our purchase.

Disappointed1
I just received my treadmill and put it together, Instructions were easy to follow. Treadmill will not power up the console. Followed the troubleshooting guide in the book and all checked fine. As instructed in the manual, I called their custmomer survice for Tech Support. I am on pacific time and they are on central time so all I could do was leave a message. The auto recording took my information and said that I would receive a call back. did not say if it wouldbe thenext business day or not. I will call again in the morning. Very leary that I just purchased a $1000.00 clothes rack.......
I did get a call back from the Tech support, unfortunately the left a message to have me call back and to try to use the troubleshooting guide in the manual. I fixed the problem after leaving this review. I had to open up the console to find that the main power connector to the dispaly was never connected. I called Horizon back, was on hold for 20 minutes then disconnected with a message that I would get a call back. The treadmill is great, Horizon customer service not so great.....

Horizon T93 Treadmill3
I purchased a Horizon T93 Treadmill about 6 months ago on Amazon. I have been moderately happy with it. On the positive side, it is nice and solid and heavy, so it doesn't hop around even when I'm running fast and hard on it. I only use the basic controls, but those work fine. The fan feature is nice when you get hot. One thing I haven't been able to find (even checked the manual for it to no avail) is a Pace setting. It may be there, but I can't find it - would be nice to know my pace, but I can run without it as I have a general feel for it. Overall the assembly was reasonable - I think it took me like an hour and was not overwhelming at all. The fold-up feature is nice, and it's pretty easy to wheel around to move it in to a corner when it's not being used.

The negatives: mainly around what set this apart from some other similar treadmills that I was looking at: the sound system with built in iPod dock. The speakers are complete garbage! Also, I have had numerous problems with the computer board that controls the sound. First iteration I had the sound would suddenly go from whatever volume I had set it as to zero. This would happen about every 5 minutes. I called customer service and they told me it was a known software issue, and that it would be a while before they had boards with the fix ready to ship. I waited about 2 months, then got a new board in the mail, and Horizon had a sub-contracted tech come out and install it. With the new board, it did the same thing. Turns out this wasn't a new board at all - somebody had returned a bad board, it got put into inventory, and shipped to the first BackOrder it processed (which happened to be me, waiting on a "good" board)! So, again I am told it's coming.... this time it only took a few days. When the technician installed this one NO sound would come out at all! So then I had to wait for all new equipment related to the sound to come out (the tech would not re-install the previous "bad" board that would at least give some sound). Next tech came out and put in new board and a new dock for the iPod. This got it working again - somewhat. The sound still flucuates up and down and sounds like an old am radio. Now I bought a treadmill to run on and it works for that... but I would also expect a product that retails for $1000 would have fully functional devices...

If you're buying solely for a good solid treadmill, this is a good product. If you're really interested in the external speakers and iPod docking... it leaves a lot to be desired.
