great yield
This is great value for money, and a great printer. I had a previous CMYK printer, great savings because you only change the print cartridge for the colr you have run out of instead of the whole color cratridge regardless of the other colors still being available.
This is the black cartrdige, and this is the larger size of the two. I have printed hundreds of pages and it has not made a dent in the bars showing on the menu.
Even the small cartridge printed well over a ream of paper,so I love my new printer and these cartridges, once I got the hang of getting them into the printhead without them wobbling all over the place.
An excellent product-shop around for great value and don't forget to recycle them! (You can drop them off at staples and get rewards coupons back, up to 10 per month).
not for the novice
I Put the 6500 wireless into my office to replace a tired out HP all-in-one. I found the following:
Nice product (good looking, well packed)
Easy to do the mechanical set-up
If you're going wireless and are a relative neophyte at IT; get help to do it.
The Scan is tough to set up and even harder to make work consistently.
The unit is noisy and relatively slow for use as a copier.
Print quality is good.
I hope that it lasts longer than the one it replaced.
It did solve my network printer usage problems.
HP6500W
Purchased about a month ago to replace and HP6100. Althought it is a wireless unit we just pluged it into our router because we have extenders on the network. Works good. The scan software is a little iffy in that sometimes it will just forget what it is suppose to do from the front panel. However its good other than that.
The problem with all of the HP printers is the cost of INK. You know where they make their money. We had a v40 at our place at the beach and we probably printed 20 pages over a year and the cartridge just quit. I later heard that HP has a way of killing it after the system see a year regardless of the amount of ink.
However the 6500 is compact net and for buck and a half its good.
