great computer for the price
I was mostly interested in the slimline series because they take up very little space and they're cute. Added bonuses were the price and the specs. More than enough ram, ports, and hd space for everyday computing/ media management. The down side is that the case is small so if you like to expand or add to your computer, you would be limited with this model and a full size would better suit you.

Good all around perfomer -- watch out for widescreen monitor, though
Have been pretty happy with this PC for general purpose use. I have discovered two undocumented issues, which may cause some concern:

1) I expected the on-board video to support my widescreen monitor with a resolution of 1440x900, since it has plenty of video ram. I was unable to choose a mode beyond 1280, and when I queried HP support, they said the higher mode was disabled due to an overheating issue. I found that switching the BIOS to "on board" rather than PCI video made the desired 1440x900 mode available. When I queried HP support about this, they again said that it was unwise to use this mode for any length of time.

2) Surprisingly, the Home versions of Vista don't include any fax support, and HP doesn't include a fax program, so you won't be able to use the provided fax modem to fax unless you purchase some additional software or upgrade Vista. Some web searches led to a program called Snappy Fax which claims to be Vista compatible -- apparently most of the XP fax programs won't work with Vista.

Great product for those looking for a small nimble machine
This is a great for those looking with a machine that they can easily throw on their existing wireless network without hassles. That was a major selling point for me... small + pre-installed wireless means it can go anywhere. The first thing you should do however is update the nVidia drivers from the nVidia website, especially if you have a widescreen lcs. It will resolve the issue of not getting 1440x990. Vista is great, ram is perhaps a bit light, but I havent had any problems yet. Loving this machine and it's compact powerful package.
