Product Description

This book is about Buddhism, and the pursuit of happiness. The author takes us on an intensely personal journey into the practice of Nichiren Buddhism, which has now been embraced by many millions of people around the world. It is not in any way about a remote, abstract, inaccessible, philosophy. It is about Buddhism in daily life; about learning in a wholly practical way, how to build a better and happier life for yourself, and for those whom your life touches, no matter what the circumstances. You don't have to conform to a specific lifestyle. You don't have to be especially knowledgeable or dedicated or indeed religious in any way. Nichiren Buddhism teaches the extraordinary truth that happiness is not a matter of chance or accident, but essentially, a matter of choice, and that we can all learn how to make that choice.

A Great Explanation of Nichiren's Buddhism5
I have read many a book on the subject of Nichiren's Buddhism. This one is a keeper. Well written in an easy to understand Western perspective. This is not rocket science. Anyone can practice this life philosophy. William Woollard has been able to explain a lot of the subtle nuances of this religion that many others have only scratched the surface. He admits that he was a skeptic in the beginning, even coming from a Catholic family. Reluctant as he says because he thought that at first he would sort of debunk this practice, but the more he investigated the more he saw and understood the logic in Nichiren's Buddhism. Read and see for yourself how wonderful life can be. I know that I will definitely reread it again and even use the book for some future references. Woollard has an eloquent way with words. There is no way that I could explain it as plainly and completely as he does.

The Beauty of Buddhism5
I have been practicing Nichiren Buddhism since only recently and I found this book helpful in motivating me to strengthen my faith (and actions!) through my practice. There are things from the book about Buddhism that I understand a bit more because they were explained in lay terms.
The author has researched his subject well and the book, especially in the first half, is also very useful for anyone interested in Buddhism in general.

I am grateful that Woollard occasionally reads selections from his book in the Buddhist Podcast, in order for the listeners - from every corner of the world- to enjoy the audio version of it. I'll be buying a few copies for my friends.

The Reluctant Buddhist5
This book articulates, in lay terms, what Nichiren Buddhism is.
Excellent source for folks interested in learning about Soka
Gaki International and its beliefs.
