Review of Modern Digital Signal Processing by R. Cristi
Professor Cristi's new book on modern DSP is a clear and concise treatment of contemporary DSP topics, such as multi-rate/multi-resolution, DFT filter banks, and time-frequency representations. Standard, easy-to-read notation combines with excellent figures and good practical examples make this book not only a good classroom text, but also a good reference for engineers and researchers alike. Especially well written are the chapters on multi-rate DSP and filterbanks, where Professor Cristi succeeds in unifying and simplifying important concepts rather than exhaustively decomposing them into mind-numbing detail as do the several classic texts on the subject.
