When you're bored listening to all the other albums on this list,get this one,like I did:talented and refreshing metal from Norway.[their first album] from some erstwhile members of Scariot.Similar to Nevermore but better according to some who seem to know what they're talking about.Vocalist reminds me of Harry Conklin of Jag Panzer somewhat,with the occasional falsetto like Rob Halford.Awesome!

Outstanding "Military"Power Metal from Sweden.This album got me into Metal in the first place!

Most recent album and their best so far from this Finnish band.One of the few Death Metal albums that I really enjoy.Vocals relatively clean and intelligible unlike most of their ilk.Has melody in the songs that you find yourself whistling in the supermarket carpark.

Another Morten Veland masterpiece similar in sound to his At Sixes and Sevens.

Best T.O.T album in my opinion.If you like Old English lyrics, downtuned guitars,and original melody,then this is for you.

Another melodic Power Metal offering from this German band.One of my favourites of theirs.

One of the classics from Portuguese Black/Gothic Metal band.The lead vocalist,with his local accent and baritone death growls,sounds just like Dracula in the recent movie,especially 0n track 6[what better number?]aptly titled Vampiria.COOL!Sung in English and sometimes Portuguese.Interesting drumming style.Some of the instruments are local which gives the music a Mediaeval atmosphere at times.

One of my favourite Nightwish albums.Second part is live which adds to the enjoyment.

Iced Earth classic.Awesomely powerful voice of Mat Barlow sadly lately departed from the band.Concept album about a man who sells his soul to the Devil so he can see his beloved once more.Classic metal.

Double disc version has tracks from various previous albums.A good way to sample this band.Contains the truly frightening marathon track from the mediaeval book Dantes Inferno,where Virgil,the poet, takes Dante on a tour down into Hell.Spine chilling stuff!
