Product Description

This pug can certainly strike a pose. With an unmatched talent for scenery chewing and a mug that can only be described as fetching, actress-model-pooch Charlie vogues her way through the warp and woof of history in this enchanting book of photos by Atlanta-based designer Lisa Knapp.

There’s no role—male or female, world leader or screen goddess—that’s too daunting for Charlie (and no costume that she’s unwilling to squeeze her plus-size figure into). Wrapped in a toga, she’s a formidable Julius Pugustus Caesar. As Attila the Pug, she proves herself equally comfy in barbarian togs. As an animal skin–attired Cave Woman, she’s savage. As a pillbox-hatted Jackie, she’s the very image of sophistication. And when Charlie doffs it all as a platinum-tressed Lady Godiva, she sizzles. Napoleon Bonapug, Mao Tse-Pug, and bling-bedecked gangsta rapper Notorious P.U.G. are among her many other hilarious incarnations. Charlie’s wardrobe—expertly researched and tailored by author and proud “pug parent” Knapp—is remarkable for the costumes’ meticulous detail and historical accuracy. Fabulous Pugs will captivate fashionistas, amuse history buffs, and delight all the pug-lovers among us (and who isn’t one, really?).

Cute Book4
This is a cute book, probably mostly enjoyable for people who already love pugs! Stephen Urbauer

Great fun for anyone with a sense of humor5
This book is written with comedic flair and terrific photography. Yes, the outfits are well-made and well-researched, but the book's charm lies in the wonderful humor of this delightfully pan-faced, patient Pug, Charlie, acting out the larger-than-life historical roles her "mom" has designed for her. First Pug on the Moon? Queen Victoriapug? Andy Warholpug? Marilyn Monroepug? Charlie portrays them all with a dignity totally at odds with her fabulously-dressed situation.

You don't have to like Pugs or dogs to enjoy this book -- just bring your appreciation of the absurd, and you will be entertained!

Fabulous, indeed!5
This is a must-have for any pug-lover, especially pug lovers who love to buy their pugs outfits! Lisa creates all of her pug Charlie's outfits from scratch, which is amazing considering the elaborate nature of some of the costumes. The photos in this collection are fantastic, and Charlie is a great model. She is equally adept at tackling Marilyn Monroe or Genghis Khan! Even non-pug lovers will marvel at the beautiful photos and costumes and at the sweetness of Charlie.
