I unfortunately received a hugger mugger tapas ultra mat that started to breakdown almost immediately. I received a second one and the same thing happened which was little tears on the surface started after only using the mat 3 times.

Yoga Mat just OK - nothing special
The mat is thick enough and long enough but for HOT YOGA you still slip. If you are doing HOT YOGA I would recommend that you purchase a yoga towel to go with it.

Excellent mat for my needs!!!
I did a lot of research (yes I did) for the right mat, after wearing down a lot of yoga mats. Even considered buying the most expensive brand. This one was a great choice and I am very happy with it. While very reasonable, it is a great color, and is quite sticky. I happen to use my yoga paws for early morning yoga when I am still waking up, but in general, it is the right level of stickiness for intermediate-advance yoga. Also, I do lay it on top of my old mat for extra cushion. I think you could get by without doing that. ENJOY! DO heaps of yoga!
