A little help from your props.
I avoided buying a strap for the longest time, figuring I'd just use whatever was available to me at the time: jump rope, bathrobe sash, the dog's toy snake. After getting used to an "official" yoga strap in class, I finally broke down and bought one. I love it! It's so much more comfortable than my makeshift straps, and not nearly as silly looking! :oD I recommend getting a D-ring instead of the buckle ~ much easier to adjust.

I have enjoyed ordering from Hugger Mugger over the years. They are a bit slow in shipping, but their customer service and products are A+.

8 foot length is essential
The 8 foot version of this strap is great, much more usable than the 6 foot for your yoga practice. It is a really well made, sturdy strap!
