Product Description

A friendly and brief guide to the essentials of hypnosis. Hypnosis can teach us many things about how the human mind, perceptions and emotions function. It can also show how to help people shift those perceptions, mental processes, and emotions to resolve problems. Recent discoveries in neuroscience have pointed to the amazing plasticity of the brain and the mutability of habits, lending new interest to these age-old techniques.

While hypnosis is an endless subject, it can also be distilled down into some clear and simple principles. This book is the result of Bill O’Hanlon’s many years of teaching professionals how to compellingly invite their clients into trance and to help those clients reduce or eliminate the suffering that brought them to seek help. The third in the guidebook series (after A Guide to Possibility Land and A Guide to Inclusive Therapy), this is a brief, accessible, and fun guide to the essential points of a big therapeutic topic. Written with Bill O’Hanlon’s signature wit and style, this book is essential reading for all fans of O’Hanlon and anyone interested in hypnosis. .

Customer Reviews

to the point5
A great comprehensive overview on the techniques of permissive trance that are not only helpful in therapeutic trance but can also support coaching sessions with business clients.
BillO'Hanlon shows that he is really a master of trance land because he shows the ability to really strip decades of personal experience down to the essentials for a newcomer.

An invaluable addition to any practitioner's bookshelf.5
Some people write short books because the don't know enough about their subject matter. Bill's shorter books are written because he knows a huge amount about this subject, but has put great effort into distilling and organising the work into just what is needed without extra fluff.

As a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist, I find this book as well as his guide to Possibility Land the ones I go back to time and again to refresh my knowledge and ideas on the subject.
