About the Artist
Since 1991 Busta Rhymes has been greeted as a transformational, bar-raising iconoclastic performer and writer. Not only was he a member of the four-man group Leaders of the New School, but also as a member of `Native Tongue Brothers' which consisted of A Tribe Called Quest, Leaders Of The New School, Black Sheep, De La Soul and Jungle Brothers. That same year Leaders Of The New School teamed up with A Tribe Called Quest to create the all-time classic single "Scenario," and released A Future Without a Past on Elektra Records. In 1996 Busta Rhymes released his debut solo album, The Coming, which featured the hit song "Woo Hah! Got You All In Check" The single marked his first of 14 RIAA gold and platinum certifications in his association with Elektra as a solo artist and founder of Flipmode Squad, and an additional five through J Records and Aftermath/Interscope. His 2006 album, The Big Bang, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart. Busta Rhymes' run in the international pop, rap and urban top ten has extended over a decade, from the platinum Grammy®-nominated single "Woo-Hah!! Got You All in Check" through the No. 1 Hip-Hop/R&B and No. 3 pop "What's it Gonna Be?!" featuring Janet Jackson and "Pass the Courvoisier" with Diddy and Pharrell, and into the digital era with the gold-certified mastertone "Touch It." In between making albums, Busta entered the acting arena starring in John Singleton's hit movie Higher Learning (1995) in which Busta made his acting debut. Busta teamed up again with John Singleton and starred along side Samuel L. Jackson, Vanessa Jackson and Christian Bale in the remake of the 1971 classic Shaft (2000). Also in 2000 Busta Rhymes starred with Sir Sean Connery in Finding Forrester, and in 2002 he starred with the `Queen Of Horror Movies' Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween Resurrection. As Busta Rhymes embarks on his eighth studio album Back On My B.S., his first release through Universal Motown Records, Busta will once again prove that he is a formidable centerpiece in music. As an iconic figure, Busta has demonstrated to be viable and respectable mainstay amongst both diverse group peers and elaborate fan-base. His undeniable talent coupled with upcoming partnerships, demonstrate Busta Rhymes is a living legend.

"GOD BODY IN THE FLESH, CALL ME GODZILLA"3
When is Busta Rhymes gonna give it up? Since 1990, Bus-A-Bus has been a fixture in hip hop. Seven solo albums and three record labels later and he still tries to break our necks. Its been 3 years since his last CD (his last with Aftermath). And this album has been pushed back since late last year. That shows no faith from the record company. So now the question is: Do people still have love for Busta Rhymes? "Back On My B.S." attemps to answer that question.

Busta blames bad promotion for his bad record sales of his last album. I can agree because it was actually pretty good. But now I'm beginning to wonder if that was Busta's last stand. Lately, Busta has been known for his club joints and he doesn't disappoint with songs like "Arab Money" ft Ron Browz. He gets assistance from Lil' Wayne and Jadakiss on "Respect My Conglomerate". "Hustler's Anthem" ft. T-Pain is fun with classic Busta flow. And Busta gets reflective on "Decisions", ft Jamie Foxx, Mary J. Blige, John Legend & Common. This is the best cut on the album. That was the good. Now for the ugly. Busta has never been known as a great lyricist, but he seems to take a step back even further on "I'm A Go And Get My...". "World Go Round" ft. Estelle is terrible. The beat is cartoon-ish it shoulda been on Common's `Universal Mind Control'. Sometimes with a Pharrell produced track its hit or miss, "Kill Dem" misses the mark terribly.

This is not the best we seen from Busta. His last CD was better in everyway. But if you liked him before, you won't be disappointed. He's not reinventing himself, he just gives us more of what we want from Busta...Energy.

well its new and typical busta4
i say that because it does have typical busta on the cd but at the same time it has the busta that always keeps up with the times as far as riding the bandwagon by getting t payne and ti and folk like that on the cd but hey what can i say i guess it shouldnt be surprising busta got them. the overall cd starts out great and kinda thins in the middle but then picks back up toward the end. of course bust smashes the lyrics on here but i just wish he would get more dj scratch produced songs like he use to. anyway still a dope cd so real hip hoppers please go pick it up!
