Buy used from: $330.00 Best of the bunch. Linux runs much better than Windows on this little guy, as one might expect. Ubuntu 9.04 "Jaunty" supports the 1000HE's hardware right out of the box with no need for complicated customizations.
The battery life this computer achieves is truly unprecedented. Its keyboard is comfortable, as is the 10" display. I recommend it whole-heartedly.

160GB hard drive in this one. Ships with Windows, so the additional cost of the license (yes, you're paying for it) is a total waste. That said, the whole package is cheap enough that I wouldn't feel too guilty about wiping out Windows in exchange for my favorite Linux distribution, Debian.

I'm not a fan of the blue, but the specs are similar to the model that includes Windows license, and this one does come out marginally cheaper.
HOWEVER, note the 3-cell battery in this one is inferior to the 6-cell of the Windows model; this factors into the overall value much more than the waste incurred buying the Windows license.

Some prefer HP's design over Acer's; the difference is purely aesthetic. All things considered, the Acer is a better value.
