Great cd, love the latin jazz / salsa from the Buena Vista Social Club !
¡Perfeccion musical!
Esta grabacion de "El Guajiro" Mirabal es maravillosa. Los arreglos y la interpretacion de los musicos y sus cantantes es de primer orden. La calidad del sonido es asombrosa, especialmente en el sonido de los vientos y del cuero de las tumbadoras; un deleite para los oidos amantes de la buena musica. ¡BRAVO!!
The wait was worth it...
It is about time that "Guajiro" Mirabal's music got its own stage. He has been a mainstay of the Cuban music scene for a long long time. His trumpet is clearly heard ln collaborations with many of the other mainstays of that wonderful music, but this is his first "solo" cd. Do not worry, the selections still include the talents of many of the same voices and sounds I have learned to love from their music. I sincerely hope this is not the only cd we get from Mirabal. His music is too good and too memorable. I could ask, "why did we have to wait so long?" But I would rather just crank up the speakers and say, "the wait was worth it..."
