Breath of Fresh Fatherhood5
This book made me feel uncomfortable but in such a good and positive way. In my mind that is the ultimate compliment for a book like this. A self-help book that fails to make you think, compare, panic, learn and change fails to hit the mark. Fathering from Love did all that. The author used "afterthoughts" as his unique method for delivering tough lessons to the reader. Rather than preaching, he put words in the mouth of his estranged father, who delivered hundreds of powerful, emotionally charged apologies that help readers understand exactly how to enrich, support, guide, validate, teach, encourage, and listen to their children. I believe every parent who has ever questioned their parenting skills or their results should read this book today.

Cri de coeur for fathers who want to end the cycle 5
Jonathan Scott has written a heart-wrenching and ultimately uplifting guide for fathers who suffered from troubled relationships with their own dads but want to break the transgenerational cycle and establish loving, lasting relationships with their own children. He includes hundreds of meditations--healing words he wishes his own father would have said to him--and illustrates his insights into what it takes to be a loving father with both examples of his own upbringing and stories about his interactions with his own children. Well worth reading if you are working through your own troubled childhood and are in need of guidance to find the touchstones of loving fatherhood.

My Own Experience in Relating to this Book!5
WOW, is probably my first impression after reading this book. I could relate in so many ways to the writer's experiences...but having said that, even one who didn't grow up in the opulent luxury that this writer describes, can relate to the militaristic and unrealistic demands for perfection, while withholding any form of love and affection. This book has a "happy" ending, so to speak, in that this father who writes this book, having learned from what he didn't receive, has been able to transform his experiences into to being a loving, nurturing, and supportive father to his own children. In the book, Fathering From Love, the author, Jonathon Scott, shares his experiences and his tools as to how to be the best parent one can be!!! It is well worth reading!
