About the Author
Peter Russell studied mathematics and theoretical physics at Cambridge, later turning to psychology as he became fascinated by the subject of consciousness and the untapped potential of the human brain. He studied TM in India under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, trained there as a teacher of TM, and later spent three years researching into the subject at the University of Bristol. He was one of the first people to introduce self-development seminars to business, and for twenty years consulted to major corporations on creativity, learning methods, stress management and sustainability. He now lectures around the world on consciousness and the future evolution of humanity. His other books include "The Brain Book", "The Awakening Earth", "The Creative Manager", "The Global Brain Awakens", "Waking Up In Time", "The Consciousness Revolution", and most recently "From Science to God".

Customer Reviews

Moving beyond TM2
TM is a wonderful technique. In today's world I find it unacceptable that this universial and very simple meditation technique would cost upwards of $2,000. I would direct people to other organizations such as The Art of Living which offer very affordable classes in breathing, yoga, and a meditation course that is a similar technique as TM but with a slightly different, more heart-focused approach. It is mantra based and has the same structure, at a fraction of the cost. Its founder, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, was recently nominated for a Nobel prize. An interesting note is that Ravi Shankar was previously part of the TM movement years ago but broke off and has gained unprecendented world-wide acceptance.

I was very interested in learning TM but as a graduate student, however, it was out of my reach. I simply don't buy that you need to break the bank to learn meditation. I paid a very small amount and practice Sahaj Samadhi (Art of Living's technique that is similar to TM) joyfully and dilligently every day, twice a day.

If you are uncomfortable with the costs associated with this technique, look elsewhere. The Art of Living is a great place to start.

Rehash1
This book was nothing new only a rehash of previous books on TM.

The author was lacking in "Technique". The title suggested he was going to give you the how to to TM; however, he obliquely suggest signing up for the TM sessions at about $1,500.00.

This book was nothing but a sale's pitch to sign up for the TM course.

COSTLY ADVERTISEMENT1
IF FOUND THIS BOOK TO BE NOTHING MORE THEN A ADVERTISMENT FOR A $2,000+ MEDITATION CLASS. I REGRET BUYING THS BOOK.
