From the Manufacturer

A Five-Star Lineup
Feeling creative? You don't have to search very far to find the tools you need. Just open your Applications folder, where you'll discover a true digital treasure trove: iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie HD, iDVD and GarageBand. Individually, the five iLife '05 applications offer powerful yet easy-to-use options for purchasing and managing music, organizing digital photos, editing videos, creating your own top-ten tunes and authoring DVDs you can share with friends and family. But it's when you use them together that iLife '05 really shines, providing a suite of tightly-integrated tools that work together seamlessly and place no limits on your talent or creativity.

All-in-one design, plug-and-play simplicity, great performance and an affordable price tag. | Options to Burn Take watching movies, for example. Both models play Hollywood's finest movies on DVD, and the DVD Player, an application included with Mac OS X Tiger, is as easy to use as the remote controls on your living room remote. Both eMac models also allow you to burn CDs. In iTunes, for example, you can create your own playlists -- "Music to Drive By," "Gotta Dance," "Late Nite Tunes" -- and then burn audio or MP3 CDs to play in your car or home stereo. You can also burn data CDs -- right from the desktop; that's a simple way to back up important documents or share projects with colleagues at work. |
The impressive 1.42 GHz PowerPC G4 processor provides all of the power you need. Whether you create complex Excel spreadsheets or large Keynote presentations, eMac won't miss a beat. And you'll really enjoy eMac's performance when you're scrolling through thousands of digital photos in iPhoto or applying transitions between clips in iMovie HD. In fact, thanks to the PowerPC G4 processor with Velocity Engine, eMac even lets you create DVDs with iDVD.
Flat's Where It's At Blistering 3D Effects The fact that eMac even has a dedicated graphics processor sets it apart from many computers in its price range. Many other computers that are as affordable as eMac come with "integrated Intel graphics." That means that to draw graphics on the screen, they steal power from the main processor, siphoning off memory from system-level RAM. Think that doesn't have an effect? If a PC with integrated graphics has 256MB of RAM, it needs to divert a big chunk of that memory to draw complex 3D images or pump ever-changing video to the screen, leaving whatever memory remains to keep up with all of your other computing demands. |
The Radeon processor offers dazzling 2D, 3D and video performance, a feature you'll really appreciate when editing footage in iMovie or while playing the hottest new games. |
Fast Memory
The ATI Radeon 9600 processor packs its own memory punch: 64MB of Double Data Rate (DDR) memory. The result? It pumps out millions of triangles per second (the standard way to describe graphics performance), ensuring compatibility with the latest generation of graphics-intensive 3D games. As its name implies, DDR memory transfers data to video memory at twice the speed of SDRAM, enabling the eMac to process twice the graphics information per clock cycle, resulting in sizzling frame rates.
Not only does the Radeon 9600 processor give you fluid 3D graphics, but it boosts eMac performance significantly, as well. How? By handling all graphic-intensive operations, it allows the PowerPC G4 processor to complete its own tasks unimpeded. So you realize even more power at your fingertips.
What makes eMac an out-of-the-box sensation? What's in the box, of course. Every eMac comes with Mac OS X Tiger and the full suite of iLife applications. One puts power at your fingertips, the other gives you power over your digital life. Both help make eMac the most affordable way to do it all. At once.
The World's Most Advanced Operating System
Mac OS X Tiger changes the way you work, play, search and share on your eMac. Can't find what you need? Spotlight makes fruitless system searches a thing of the past. Want timely information from the Internet right now? Take Dashboard for a spin. Want to share media with friends and family? Tiger's integrated features make it simple. In fact, Tiger offers a feature for every reason you use your eMac. And then some.

A Fantastic Computer
I have owned this e-mac for over 2 years and it has NEVER froze up or had any problems at all (knock on wood)If you are looking for a great computer, look no further. The price now is about $250-350 (3 tanks of gas) I now have 2 of these, one at each home.
User friendly and virus free, now with faster processor
Apple is, quite simply, the best and most innovative computer manufacturer. A recent article in Consumer Reports identified Apple computers as the most reliable computers and PC Magazine user surveys have reached the same conclusion. Furthermore, Apple computers -- including this new, more powerful eMac -- are impervious to the viruses which regularly plague Windows-based PCs.
Yes, most people use Windows-based PCs, but do you really want to be just another member of the PC herd -- with all of the problems and frustrations presented by Windows-based computers, including regular virus attacks -- or are you looking for a computer which is user friendly, seldom crashes, and is virtually impervious to viruses? If these virtues are more important to you than being one of the crowd, please seriously consider buying an Apple computer. This new eMac is Apple's latest and fastest iteration of its eMac series of compact, user friendly computers at reasonable prices. This new budget priced eMac is a surprisingly fast computer -- more than twice as fast as a Pentium 4 with the same clock speed. If you're looking for a fast, versatile, easy to use computer, want to stop worrying about frequent crashes and virus attacks, and are willing to try something off the beaten path, you'll love this elegant and now faster new eMac.
