Customer Reviews

bad DVD drive1
This laptop has a really, really bad DVD drive.
When I received it yesterday, I followed the instruction to burn recovery disks (BTW, Acer doesn't provide any disk with this computer). The laptop just could not finish burning any disk. The process wasted my 6 DVD+R, 2 DVD-R and 4 CD-R disks. It always posted an error message asking me to put a blank disk into the drive. But every time, after a few minutes burning, it stopped and do that again.
Then I try to play some DVD on this laptop. It just can not reliably recognize any disk! For the same disk, you only have about 30% of chance for the drive to recognize it and play it for you.
All of these were found on the very first night after the delivery. I decided to return it, but I figured it could be a hassle to return stuff bought on-line.
