A great gift ... even if it's for yourself
I saw these little egglings & instantly wanted them. And why would I not? They are cute, they come with their own little terra cotta plant holders and grow adorable little flowers or herbs. So I bought myself two - one of basil and another of mint. I cracked the little egg open, dripped in some water and waited. With in a couple of days, I saw tiny little sprouts. I gave them more water. Another couple of days and the sprout was even bigger. More water, more plant. Each plant is was of fine quality and grew quite large. I eventually had to plant them (egg & all) outside as they were getting too big for just the little egg. I was actually quite sad to not have them inside any longer.
These make a great gift for any plant lover especially a little kid. So I suggest you buy 4 or 5 - two or three to give and two or three to keep.
The petunia worked great for me
My husband bought me 2 Eggs with Petunias and 1 Egg with a mystery herb in it. They ALL grew without using the extra seed package. I really loved the petunias b/c they were so easy to bring back to life with water. I have a black thumb of death, when it comes to plants, so this made me very happy. I replanted them all in nice pots and they grew beautifully. Every year, since then, I have collected the baby petunias that grow in the planter and have a 3rd generation growing in a little pot. The herb died off in the winter but I didn't know what it was anyway. I am actually back on here to buy more for my family. Hopefully they have the same luck as me.
Bad Seeds
The Easter Bunny delivered these to my kids, but I don't know what he was thinking. They didn't sprout! Not even a little (and YES, I did water them!) The manufacturer includes extra seeds in case this happens, but even THEY didn't sprout. These were a disappointment.
